Holidays & Days of Note for June 30th, 2013

*   On this day in 1908 a massive explosion took place in Tunguska, Siberia. More powerful than a hydrogen bomb, no definitive explanation had been given for it. Theories have ranged from it being a tiny chunk of anti-matter; to a crashed spacecraft though the prevailing thought now is that it was a meteor (see link)

*   Meteor Watch Day (not sure whom, if anyone, “celebrates” this one) Hmmm, must be just a coincidence that it’s on the 30th of June.

*   Pilipinas Espanya pagkakaibigan araw “Philippines Spain Friendship Day” (Philippines)
